Econ

Intent is the other Invisible Hand.

There are two economic constructs. One is based on the idea that gain (or even survival) requires exploitation of other people. The other construct is where people help each other.

There are many points in between, including where the exploitation finds an equilibrium that calms over-exploitation so that it is tolerable and can be institutionalized.

Intent matters. Not to economists. But intent is what drives the direction we are on. If we are thinking about how we shape the world, where do we want to wind up? With a caste system? Or with a place where people thrive?

Don’t be afraid of the scenario where we all help each other.
